Other ducklings bullied, chased, and peckled the ugly duckling because of the way he looked. However, after a hard, cold winter, and plenty of the kind of adventures no one really wants to have, the ugly duckling passed by a pond and looked for his dull, awkward reflection in the water. He did not see this but instead saw a blossomed beautiful swan.
